About Lorie
Lorie D. Fowlke, JD is a graduate from the J. Reuben
Clark Law School, cum laude and a practicing attorney specializing in
civil litigation and domestic relations. She also serves as a court
appointed mediator in the State of Utah and mediates EEO complaints for
the U.S. Postal Service. She frequently represents children in divorce
and abuse/neglect cases as a Guardian Ad Litem. Lorie served as a past
president of the Central Utah Bar Association, is currently Chair of the
J. Reuben Clark Law Society and is on the board of the Utah Regional
Ballet.
Born in California and raised in the Tonga Islands, Lorie graduated
from high school at age 15. After she obtained a Bachelor's degree in
law enforcement at Brigham Young University, Lorie worked as the first
female police officer on patrol in Santa Barbara, California. She is a
former businesswoman, newspaper columnist, and author.
She has lived in Orem for 35 years with her husband, children, horses
and yellow lab, Gizmo. All six of her children have attended school in
the Alpine School District, and one currently attends higher education
in Utah. Her husband is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, has a
masters degree in Public Administration from Brigham Young University
and is a life long resident of Orem. When not busy with her law
practice and legislative business, Lorie enjoys her grandchildren,
horses, skiing and camping.
